The Fall

Genghis Khan died in 1227. The story goes that he was riding his horse while hunting and fell off and died.  As powerful as Genghis Khan is, he was never able to establish a stable political system to manage all of the land he conquered. Many civil wars occured, mainly the war between Kublai and Ariq-Boke fighting for the position as the Great Khan which led to the division of the Mongol Empire. There was never peace, Mongol’s continued to invade unmarked territories but more and more failures arose. Rebellions were also a major factor to their downfall and assassinations on Mongol leaders slowly increased. The greatest fall was the defeat of the Yuan Dynasty to the Ming Dynasty(Rebellious Chinese Group). This leads me to believe that Mongol’s are a civilization of conquest and not of sustainability.
